Microwedding and Minimony

What Is a Minimony Compared to a Microwedding?

Minimony vs. microwedding vs. elopement—which is right for you?

Elopements and microweddings have increased in popularity and some couples are choosing to wed in smaller size or have intimate celebrations. In the time of COVID-19, the latest type of nuptial is the "minimony," eventually followed by a sequel wedding celebration.

There are key differences between the various types of events. Elopements are considered more secretive and of-the-moment, whereas microweddings are full-on nuptials with up to 50 guests. More prevalent in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic is the option of a minimony with a postponement to your eventual wedding date. Find out which option, whether it’s a minimony or a microwedding, is best for you and your partner.

What Is a Minimony?

A minimony is a mini ceremony held with your loved ones, or simply a moment of commitment shared between the couple. Given the uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic, couples have been opting to move forward with weddings or mini ceremonies, now defined as minimonies, for a range of reasons.

A minimony is considered a marriage ceremony between you and your partner, and include up to 10 people. It is proper to adhere to social distancing measures. The health of you and your loved ones should be priority throughout the planning process. Many couples who’ve had to postpone their nuptials are encouraged to consider a minimony to honor their original wedding date or to move forward with this option for legal purposes.

WE CAN HELP !

What Is a Microwedding?

A microwedding will typically include a guest list of up to 50 guests—often immediate family and super-close friends only. Though tiny in guest count, a microwedding differs from a minimony. It isn’t an elopement, which is usually planned and attended only by the couple and up to 10-15 guests. Think of a microwedding as a cross between an elopement and a big, traditional wedding—and it might just be the perfect compromise to suit your style.

What Is an Elopement?

Elope in St Louis has evolved in the last eight years. Traditionally, elopements were considered spur-of-the-moment and unplanned involving an element of secrecy. Many of our events still fit this description. Today, there is still an air of sweeping romance involved in elopements, but couples are taking the extra steps to personalize it. We offer a Deluxe Elopement Package that includes the officiant, flowers for the couple, and a professional wedding photographer.

The location can have a major impact or not. Overall, everything depends on your budget and interest.

Legal Signing

What is the most simple and easy way to make our marriage legal?

Many couples choose to have a private legal signing of the marriage license rather than waiting for a date at their local courthouse. If you want to be married quickly, easily, and discreetly then a legal marriage license signing may be perfect for you.

Decide on a date, time, and location and bring is your marriage license.
Fee is based on location.

Elope in St Louis will take care of asking you the required questions, signing your license, and returning the signed copy to your local court to ensure that everything is legal. Prices for this service vary by date and location, please contact us for a quote.
